This past Saturday in Washington was the annual protest against the war's in Afghanistan and Iraq. The turnout seemed pretty good, especially considering there were two other big protests for immigration and health care the same weekend.
Downtown Washington can be a strange mix of old and new architecture. The glass and metal from many of the newer buildings act as giant reflectors when the sun hits them. The reflections from the buildings made a handy way to lessen the harsh noon light on the street.
