What makes a good Portrait or Head Shot Photographer?

If you're considering hiring a photographer for a big conference or event there are a few things to consider to make sure you'll get the best images possible.

It goes without saying, but you want to make sure the photographer you hire has experience working in the style you want. You'll also need someone who has the experience to know how long it will take to get the images you want. Time is always limited, and when photographing executives or VIPs, you want someone who will work efficiently.

Experience is in no way the only thing to look for, read on for more info.

Natural expression, and putting people at ease

A business portrait might be the only time other than their wedding day that most people are photographed by a professional photographer. You want a photographer who can put people at ease and direct them to look their best on camera.  When reviewing a portfolio do the subjects look natural and at ease or is it filled with photos that are the adult version of a class picture day?
